My Life Goals ft Powtoon

Hi everyone!

If you can remember, my last entry is about ‘Let’s learn about powtoon.” Thus, in this entry, I will show you, my animated video using powtoon. I hope you will like it or you can give a feedback about the video. Maybe a feedback on how should I make it looks more interesting.

Each of us need to create an animated video entitled “MY LIFE GOALS” for a minute. I give my best to do it. Since it is only a minute, so I only gave 5 goals and did not explain it much. It is just a simple, yet nice video to be viewed. I hope we have a same thought too. :)

Let's learn POWTOON!

Hello!

In this entry I am going to share with all of you a new lesson. It is about POWTOON.

Have you heard about it? From my understanding, Powtoon is just like power point but in a video version. We can create awesome videos and presentation. Anyone can use it since it is FREE and also EASY. All you need to have is an account.

Thus, I am going to share with all of you my experience in learning powtoon as my lecturer had taught us on how to use powtoon.

Me personally think that it is so FUN! Like really INTERESTING. There are lots of free and nice layout for you to choose. It also has cute and exciting characters that can represent as yourself. With all of the characters, it will make the video looks more entertaining.

The only problem I found while using this software is sometimes the most beautiful layout, characters are not free. Hehehehe. So, if you want to have it, all we need is a premium account. It means that we need to paid it. However, do not worry. The free ones are also beautiful and great.

Besides, another thing I encountered while learning this, it was too hard to move the shapes, figures and characters when the internet slow. Hahahaha. Therefore, you need to have a strong internet connection. In my situation, everything was alright when I did it in class, but as I continued it at home, I had to face some lagged. So, remember everyone, as dealing with internet and technologies, the most important thing is a STRONG CONNECTION.

I also think that Powtoon will be really benefit to teacher or anyone who is specialized to do the advertisement. It is because powtoon is an animation video. So, students or people will always get attracted to something that move or we called it as animation video. That is why I think that it is worth for you to learn on how to make powtoon. For a student, it will be worth as you can do a great video presentation.

Edit the Podcast

Hi peeps!

This week I learnt on how to edit podcast. Well, my friend and I should do a podcast as one of our assessments for this semester. Thus, Madam Azida taught us on how to edit our podcast so that we can submit a proper podcast. Not just recording our voice then submit.

Audacity + Bandlab = tools to edit the voice.

First, let’s get to Audacity. It is a free or open source audio software that applicable to anyone. It is an easy-to-use. Even if you are a beginner like me, you can still use it. You need to know, by having this software, you are able to edit the sounds and even record your voice. You can download it, don’t matter if your operating system is Window, Mac OS or Linux.

Next, if you don’t need any internet connection while using Audacity, but not for Bandlab. You need to have an internet connection to use it. the function is just same as Audacity where you can edit and record your voice. For Bandlab you need to have an account for you to use the software. The more important tips for you to know before recording your voice for the podcast or anything, please choice a quiet place. I know it might be hard for you to find a jamming studio unless you always go to jamming studio. But you can still find a quiet place for you to record a voice such as in your closet hahaha, in a library (but don’t make too much noise or someone will kick you out) or under your bed. The reason you need to look up for a quiet place is because sometimes the loud noise cannot be edited even by the software. So, good luck for those who want to try it out.

iPod + Broadcast

Hello everyone!

It is time for me to update my blog and share a new knowledge with all of you. The topic for this week is podcast. Have you heard about it? Podcast is a combination of iPod and broadcast. It is usually an audio file and it broadcast via the internet. Thus, you need to have internet to listen to this podcast. If you want to listen it while you are offline or maybe when there is no internet coverage in your area, you can download it to your computer or your mobile device.

So, for this week, I need to listen to a podcast and review it. The link given by Madam Azida was http://podbay.fm/. There, you will find lots of topic categories such as comedy, health, society & culture, news & politics and many more. You can choose any category that you are interested in. I chose science & medicine. Why? It was because I wanted to know how interesting it could be since for me science is quite unexciting. Then, when I looked for the topic, I chose “The Science of Happiness.” After I clicked it, I found that there were lots of episodes or title listed and I had to click any interesting title I wanted to listen to. The title I chose is “Be Kinder to Yourself.”

The content is about how to implement self compassion break in our life. Life must be exhausted but it always have a way on how to cope with it. It worth listening because right now, I felt quite exhausted and need some inspiration. So, when I listened to this, I know what should I applied in order to handle it. 

This audio was not more than 20 minutes. For me, it is good since it is not too long and people can stay still for it. The audio started by introduced the topic and the speaker without any music. Then after few seconds, a slow music started and you will listen to the guest’s story which is her own experience. The music will end as the story ended and they will start their conversation. So, you will not listen to any music while they are talking. Therefore, there will no any barrier for you to listen to their conversation. They also did not speak too fast so you can hear they speak words by words. Then, after 15 minutes they will have a break and the conversation with the guest ended. You will listen to another sharing information related to the topic. Next, you will be listening to the feedback they got from the listeners about the topic they have shared. Before the podcast ended, the speaker will list the staff behind the podcast.

Overall, I can say that it’s like listen to a radio but with lots of sharing information. You are not listening to a music but people who are sharing good information. It worth trying because you can do another work while listen to the podcast. The content will not disappointed you.

Search and Communicate

Hi everyone!

How are you? Since last week was a holiday week, so I need to gather all my writing mood for this week. It is never easy.

For this week, I’m going to share with all of you about Search Engines and Online Database plus Computer Mediated Communication (CMC) and ESL. Let us start with Search Engines and Online Database first. I think most of us know what the search engines are. Especially those who used internet and computer a lot. It is a web tool that allows you to enter any keywords and find the information. For examples, google, Bing, yahoo and many more. So, you can use search engine to find my blog and then it will bring you to my blog.

p/s: Every search engine has their own database.

Next, we also have SPECIALIZED SEARCH ENGINE and META SEARCH ENGINE. Me as a student will usually use the specialized search engine. Why? Because I’m special. Hahahaha just kidding. The reason is because there is some search engine that made for the student. For examples, Google School, Academia.edu, etc. There is also pipl.com where it is specialized for those who is looking for someone. Then, if you use meta search engine, it will give the combination results from other search engines. For examples, Dogpile, Metacrawler, Sputtr and others. Thus, please don’t forget to try it. It is so interesting and worth to try.

As all of you know, I’m learning English. Thus, when I learned about technology it has to be connected with language. You need to know that while using the technology, we used our reading skills, writing skills and also our critical thinking skills. We have to be able to write the keyword, then need to read the info and use our critical thinking to analyse either it is the relevant info that we need. Do you get me? That is why learning language is important.

Another lesson that we learned was Computer Mediated Communication (CMC).

CMC is any form of communication between 2 or more people via separate computer through network connection. It is like between me and you. We are having an interaction right now. But the only differ now it is either asynchronous or synchronous.

One of the best things about CMS is if you are too lazy to go the class but you want to have a certificate you can go to Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC). Below is the link. You can learn it online. It is interesting, isn’t? I hope one day, I’m able to join it.

Lastly, we learned about collaborative learning. As students, sometimes we have lots of pair and group works. So, by using google docs, google sheets and many more we can do the same works at different places. As long as we set in the setting that anyone with the link will be able to edit. It is interesting, isn't?

Hello everyone!

How was your day? Is everything alright? Me, right now, having a very good weekend since it’s holiday! Yeahhhh. I almost forget that I have to update my entry. Hahaha. Well, as I promise in my last entry, I want to share with all of you the lesson I learnt this week.

Have you ever heard about Canva? It’s another application that can be found in internet. You can also have Canva apps in your phone. I have one. Hehehe. Why? It’s because I love this apps where I can imagine myself as a designer which can design anything hahahaha. Besides, this apps also provides few free templates for us to design it.  Therefore, in the class, our lecturer asked us to do a simple design by using a Canva and we need to put it on our first entry of blog. You can see it on my first entry. The picture was edited using a Canva. It might be simple from your point of view, but can I claim it as beautiful? Besides learning to use Canva in class, we also learn about CALL. What is CALL? CALL is Computer Assisted Learning Language. It’s such an interesting topic. It’s because language is not only learnt in the classroom, yet we can also learn through computer. Just like now. You have to understand English in order for you to understand my entry or maybe for you to learn how to use Canva, you have to understand the language first or else you will not be able to use Canva. See? Everything is about language.

Therefore, from the last class I can said that by hook or by crook we learnt language while we use computer. For me, it’s interesting to see how English can be learn through various ways especially using computer. So, everyone let us use computer in a good way.

My First Trial!

Hello! 

I never imagined myself, 23 years old girl, to write a blog. Never in a million years hahaha. It's because I am not a good writer but it will be worth trying (I hope so). Let's do it in 2019. 

As usual, let start with my name. My name is Raja Azyan Munirah binti Raja Mohd Zulkifli. People usually call me Azyan. It’s a beautiful name, right? Hahaha. Just kidding. Seriously, I have no idea what I should tell everyone about me. I am a girl who live a simple life with some extraordinary dreams. This year will be my 5^th years in Kolej Universiti Poly-tech Mara. I am here since diploma and now I am studying for my degree in Applied English Language Studies and currently in my semester 7. Wish me luck!

Internet Technologies for Language class is the reason I need to have my own personal blog. Well, the last time I learnt in details about internet and technologies was for my SPM. Yes, SPM and it was 6 years ago. Oh, and in my first semester of diploma but it was just an easy-peasy hahahaha. Unfortunately, me and short memory are friends. Thus, when Madam Azida, my lecturer for this subject mentioned about coding, interface and many more it reminded me of SPM and cannot avoided myself from worried. (Because I don’t remember. Pity me). Pray for Azyan! In the first class, Madam Azida briefly explained to all of us about the assessments throughout this semester and the first task was creating this blog. It was fun because it was a new experience for me. Of course, I am glad and happy to be in this class.  Generally, I will update and share what I have learn in the class in this blog. So, stay tuned!

My expectations for this class are I hope there will be so many new things that I will discover and learn and it will be beneficial for me and my friends. Thus, it will help us in the future. Besides learning internet technologies, I hope that I can polish my writing skill through this blog. And I wish myself can give 100% attentions in the class so I will understand and remember it for the rest of my life and of course pass this subject with a flying colours hahaha.
